Bonfire Night celebrations 2016
Bonfire night(also known as Guy Fawkes day) is an English celebration to mark the failed plot to blow up King James I of England during the opening of Parliament on November 5, 1605 by Guy Fawkes and 12 other conspirators. Few months later Parliament declared November 5 a public day of thanksgiving.
Every year on the night of November 5th, throughout Britain, we commemorate the capture of Guy Fawkes with bonfires and fireworks, and by burning an effigy of Guy.
